Wrote mail + Sunday Chits in the morning. I had a "chit" from the Adjutant to day to the effect that the G. Of I were issuing chargers for the officer of the second I.G. Sections. So I suppose we shall now have two officers. I expect Noad will be the second one as he has just done an MG Course. Lamant will probably be 2 i/c of "A" or "B" now Beach has gone.
The officers played the M.G. Sections tonight and lost 1-0. I was playing outside Right + fortunately did not have much to do. We were not "as form."
Friday July 7.
Our Brigade created a sensation today by working to say he was coming over tomorrow morning to examine six subaltems??? - in squad drill of all things!
The officers played the R.F.A. N.Cos tonight + lost again 2-0. I was in the right wing again + played the worst game I have ever played in my life. I couldn't do anything with the ball. It was the limit.
