Work as usual this morning.
At 4/30 Bart?? & I left on our ponies - for Munce??? "Ertiham dapara"???? It took us 3 1/2 hours to ride the 15 miles to Murrie?? as Bart's?? pony is very slow down hill. There is not an unconsiderable amount of down hill. We went to Rowling's?? Hotel but found them full so had to go down to Powell's?? where we got in. As we were sitting at dinner, a lady & gentleman came in and sat at a table near us. I thought I knew the man but couldn't place him for some time. Then Higgins?? who has been staying a day or two at the Hotel & had seen them asked me if I recognised him. Then it struck me. Col. & Mrs. Prentis (from Dwaporr!)??? Naturally after dinner we had a long talk. He has apparently been transferred to the 72nd at Peshawa?? & has come to the hills for a week or two. It is curious how one meets people! From what we gathered the Saursets??? don't get on as well with the Civilian populations as we did.
Wednesday July 5
Met Beach at the Exam. Room to day. He left G.D. last Saturday for Jhelium?? to take up the Bde. Major's??? job there for 3 weeks & has come up from jhelium??? for the Exam. Williamson & Slack rode in from G.D. this morning leaving there at 6.0
