Sruiagas??? June 12th 1916 My dear Mother & Father. We paid a visit to Cox's this morning to see if there were any letters for us, and to our joy found an English Mail waiting. We had not expected to get it until tomorrow. Thank you both very much for your ever welcome letters, though this week they are sorrowful. I am indeed most sorry to hear of Auntie Rhoda's death. I had not imagined anything at all like it happening. It is awfully rough for Uncle Wallace, particularly as he has just got his discharge. I will write to him. Murree???, Mother saw only one spot. There is quite a largish hill range which is called the oleemec??? Hills. In these hills dotted about are places like Ghaa Dhaka where they send troops for the summer. We as a Ghaa Dhaka farther away from Murrea??? than we are. And then Nonhuwberland Tuseship??? (Teddy Bears as we now call them) at Triangle??? Gate and Narthia??? Gate, and then Mountain Balteay??? at Narthea as well. Furtheroff

Some parts are really difficult to make out...
