we played the postponed match against D Corps at 6./o tonight. The ground was, to say the least of it, sticky. Consequently we had a new experience in controlling a heavy ball. The result was a draw on eall. Williamson and Bell were playing L.H. and I.R. in the first half and exchanged places in the second. Neither were a success and I had more work than I should have done in consequence.
Friday June 2nd.
Started packing for my month in Cashmere at 7.0 this morning. Finished it at 8.20. Then just had time to get breakfast & get on parade for route march. Succeeded in doing several odd jobs at Ghona Dhaka such as returning ammunition & collecting money for the adjutant. Got back about 12.30, had tiffin & then went back to the tent to pack up the things I was leaving behind. Finished that about 2.15 & went back to the mess to find the English Mart ??? in & Line ??? out anxiously waiting to start. Chartered a "ratt" & we got a move on. We went via the Pipe Line to Borian ??? & then the road into Sunnybank. The whole distance that way is about 18 miles but it has the advantage that the first 11 are on the level.
