Happened to the pony. I rushed down the Khud to the tunnel with 4 men expecting to find the pony down the Khud on the far side down the Khud. However halfway through the tunnel I found the pony lying in a deepish net on his back. The poor beast could not get up. Apparently the pony had followed quite quietly until he was almost at the end of the tunnel when something startled him when he turned & galloped back, stepped & went down on his back as we found him. Some one lit a match & we saw that he was undamaged as far as we could see so I got hold of his front leg & rolled him over. Then he managed to get up & promptly started to back the. He bumped his head against the top twice but by hanging me to the bridle I kept his head down & got up to him packed him & told him what a fine fellow he was & then one of my fellow started him with a judicious touch behind & he walked out with me like a lamb.

It was a nasty five minutes. Managing a startled horse in a tunnel just wide enough for two men to pass in & only high enough just to stand in is not the attended with excitement.
