nothing ready for us. We were told that the Men's Dinners would be about 2 hours getting ready and decided that it was better to spend the time up at G.O. rather than going down the 500ft and 2 miles to GO, coming up again for Dinners and going back again.
About 4.0 we got a move on to Khanisput. The bungalows are in 3 bits. D Coy have two bungalows and we are with them in a half bungalow. We are 34 in barracks meant for 28 but that won't worry us very much. It is better to have the section together even if we are a bit crowded.
The mile lines are about 250ft below the men, right at the bottom of everything.
At present there is only on officer's mess (at G.O.). We did not take long making up our minds that two are necessary. 2 miles up and down the Rhind ??? for every meal is not good enough! Most of the officers, and all the subalterns, of course, among them, will be in tents.
Some one had to shop at Khanspur so Jack Hewlett and I were detailed for the job. We had quite a comfortable night in the Doctors Quarters and as there was heavy rain in the night we're more fortunate than those in tents.
