The P.R.I. usually provides a haversack notem??? for the men on these shows but this time we are having half way halts for tea. The fondness of a soldier for Tea at all hours of the day beata a Devarian? easily. I must say I found 4 cups of Tea & some solid food very welcome.
It was about 1/30 when we reached our Camp at the 13 1/2 ?? mile atore??? Actually we had covered 18 miles, as the mileage starts from the ???of Pundi??? Todays march was almost entirely on the level. We went up about 200 ft only.
The settling-in process was not a long one.The officers less established it sup on the verandah of the Dak Bungalow and by 3/0 we had finished a very good Tiftin???
Sleep in the afternoon was almost impossible owing to the flies. Still - we slacked.
The night was just about the hottest I have had this year, but after a certain amount of restlessness I got to sleep & didn't wake again until a relentless voice whispered in my ear "half past four master!"
