Came back again. Consequently the Picquets had the best time as they just had to get to the top of their allotted hells and stay there.
The machine guns got pushed into the attack which was made against the enemy who had taken up a portion just beyond the village. As soon as the retirement was ordered we had to get clear away to the main body. The Brigade was the Rear Guard coming back. We had one or two good chances for effective worth on the way back but in the absence of definite orders could not take them.
They are rather change of using m @??? in retirement as they are often difficult to “get me”.
We got back to camp about 24/0 fairly tried.
Saturday April 15th,
G.O.Co inspection, we fell in at 7/45 & got on to the Brigade Parade ground soon after 8.0. At 8/30 along came the General, there was the usual General Salute and then he order atom Machine. As it was1 ½ - 2 miles long it took him same time and he did not inspect each unit closely.
After the Inspection we informed our hollow square were the officers in review order.
