Today was of course spent in settling down. Consequently little real work could be done.
Apparently the Persian Gulf is more than a mere rumor & we are actually being mobilised for service there. Whether we shall go at all or when we shall go goodness only knows.

Managed to do just a little work to day, though we had to spend a considerable time in unpacking the guns and tripods.
The morning was cut into again by my having to go to Rations @ 11.0 (as Orderly Dog) and a little fatherly chat by the C.O. billed??? for 12.0 but which actually did not take place till 12/30 whereat the Subaltems??? friened???!
Looked over the guns in the aft. to see what was short or missing.
No more news re Persian Gulf. Fisher has put up a tent of the things one should take.
A Brigade is being formed - according to rumors - consisting of "Gun noble selves" the 1/5 Saurnets??? the 1/4 Queens & a batt of Durhamheight mtg.??? (Regulars). The Brigadier has not yet been appointed, so we shan't move for a bit! No one seems very excited, it is treated quite as a matter of course!
