We lost time last night and that threw us back on sation for passing the mail making us about an hour late in all.
Breakfast this morning was very "Kutcha"meal. The breakfast stop for the men was ???Donali but as there was no refreshment room there, or anywhere else in this part of the world, the only think we could do was get Shaboodeen to do a sort of one for us. The result was that we did have something to eat, but hardly a breakfst in the usually accepted sense of the term.
It had seemed at first that we should have been about an hour late at Pindi but by dent of rapid movement over the last stretch we we were only 1/2 hr late.
On arrival we found Camels and mule carts waiting to convey the baggage. We had no trouble in detraining the mules. They were only too glad to get out of the boxes.
Almost the first thing we heard when we got out of the train was that we were to mobilise. That ofcourse led to the question - why? There were various solutions to various rumours. They came more or less in this order :-
