Fisher and I gave a Tea to our N.C.Os today. We were 10 in all. We started at 4.30 and kept it on till 9.0! Sgt. Pull moved at 7.45 and made a valiant effort to move the orders but they weren't to be moved and stuck until we shifted them by telling them we had to dress for Mess! I think they must have enjoyed themselves or they would hardly have stayed so long. I suppose it is a change from barracks and anything like that they appreciate!

Monday Jan 10

Range late today. had only to fire one practice so I wasn't down there long. When I got back to the section we did the daytime preliminary work of Night Firing - then when we went out at 6/30 on Night Ops we did the Night Part of it. The major and the Adjt. came along and I tried to explain it all to them more or less successfully I think.

Tuesday Jan 11.

Nothing exciting to-day.

Had a ride with Tupper and Somerwell in the eve. We got more or less lost in the maze of villages on the White Temple road - or rather off it and had quite a job to get back to the road again. We had to go across country which was quite jolly. Finally just on our side of the road we encountered a dry canal
