49
service revolver & 24 rounds of ammunition still in it.
We found nothing else & as the policeman when he returned said the Supt Sahib was asleep & they seemed afraid to wake him, we wandered round ourselves & knocked him up & told him the whole dreadful story.
When we got back we found Fisher back again & in bed, so we had to "???k" with him. As we were talking we mentioned the word Suit Case Explosion: "The - they've taken mine!" It was too funny for us & we collapsed. It was just the touch of humour we wanted. We left Fisher to brood over it & to think what had been in the case & retired to bed.
Sunday Jan 2nd
The Police Supt arrived at 8/0 am today, visited the scene of the tragedy & heard the gruesome details. He concluded as we did that it was done by someone who was "in the know". Suspicion falls now on a bearer that he sacked about a week ago, whether or no they will collar him I don't know.
The Police started a search round about & discovered some of the stuff in the garden of the bungalow across the road. The blighters had apparently taken the stuff over there & sorted out what they wanted.
