are already there. The other unit of the Survey Bde. (The 5th Queens have just gone to the Gulf so a Devon Rgr. is going to Nowshire to make the Bde. The "Tenth" are going to Luckman and four "Garrison Battns" - blighters who won't volunteer for "the Front" but who are quite happy as Policemen out here - are coming to make up the various Garrisons.

Our Brig. Gen. Marey is going out to the Gulf as Chief of Staff to Nixon. I am sorry he is going but awfully glad. He has been asked for by 3 Generals already and at last they have let him go.

We hear too that the Indian Army Corps. has been moved from France, part to Egypt and part to Persia. That explains the disorganisation of the mails this last fortnight. The Government have, bagged the Pros and the mails had had to come out by slower B.I's.

I heard from Lionel yesterday that Hickling left for the Gulf on Wednesday. Apparently there are no men going. I am sorry not to have seen him before we went but I sent him a wire to wish him "luck" which I hope he will get at Bombay.
