I got it on. I think they go very much by the way in which you go "at" a thing. Bovhay, Johnson, MacKay, Wippell and Pearce came down as well.

Played Tennis in eve. with Lisle, we took on Lamont and Mitchell and beat them.

Wednesday Dec. 15.

More demonstrations to-day. The most interesting was the Swinging Ravers for close quarters - trenches. I decided that it was preferable to be behind a machine gun rather than to be in front of it! We also saw a Gun fixed without a Tripod which I hadn't thought practicable.

Stoppage and Standard Tests Exams to-day. I waited through the Standard Tests and Tell Sitting quite happily but I started badly in the Stoppages. However I recovered and did not plough like an idiot. I said the weight of the Fused Srping should be under 4 lbs. instead of 5 -7. I mixed it up with the Recoiling Portions. It was the result of "looking up" too near the Exam.

Had a walk in the eve.

The "Final" Didn't get across to Breakfast til 9.0. The Exam was what I call an ungentlemanly one. They didn't ask any of the
