BMGO and did not exactly shine. I was going "Sgt: to Johnson who was SEction Officer of No. 3 Section.

It was quite an interesting show. The Staff were to learn almost as much as we were I think. It brought out chiefly the difficulties of control.

Tuesday Dec. 14.

Demonstrations and Field Practices today. They did one interesting overheard Fire during which they recommend us to show them that we can fire over their heads without hurting them. They don't tell us to go so far as trying it "no" the Battalion and I think as the whole, I prefer the idea of using targets!!

We did some indirect fire after that and got 70% hits on a target we couldn't see, firing over a hill. Not so bad!!

Lock Stripping Exam to-day. I was quite relieved to see my name wasn't "in the book" tonight. I got the Lock handed to me in rather a "buggered up" condition and was told to finish putting it together. I had a little difficulty with the spring but Castle Smith had also when he tried it. My next job was "wire up" the tumbler. As it was an old lock the pin had to be chased round and round and round. But eventually
