so I was jolly glad I had got most of my letters home done.

Sunday Dec 14

Wrote up notes in the morning.

Lamont Mitchell & myself went to Sanders Pool in the afternoon. We passed Duchess Falls - which we tried to find last Sunday, on the way. We lost our way again today & nearly got back to Pachman. Then we decided that as we had walked for 3/4 hrs we ought to be at the spot & therefore must have missed it so we went back & after 10 minutes walk discovered a silly little notice board facing away from the Path labelled - Sanders Pool. This path was very steep - about 1 in 1/2 all the way & took us down about 1000 ft in all. The last part was over a dry waterfall. It is about the steepest so-called "path" that I have tackled. We got to the bottom we found ourselves at Duchess Falls & then had to go up a bit & down a bit more to get to Sanders Fall. Our coolie was waiting for us with tea. It was an achievement for him to get down there with a box on his head but he did it quite easily. We had tea & lazed for about an hour & then returned. We got back about 6.0.
