evening. Rickell was the only other representative of the unnamed Muskeeteers but of course Querbriny??? and Milsnii??? and their respective wives were there as they live at the Hotel.

We had some music after Dinner and then Slippery Ann from which I alone emerged alive! I had luck galore.

Saturday Nov. 27.

Only the exam to worry about today. Quite enough for one day. It started at 10/0 and I left about 11.55. The paper was really rather easy. So much so that I found it impossible to say all I wanted to say as I wanted to say it and consequently did not do so well as I might have done. I think I shall scrape my 60% together alright. The worst of this percentage game is that one never knows how they will mark, but I hardly think they can mark stiffly or none of the sergeants -who have the same paper as we do would get through. I shall be exceedingly bored if I plough! I want the "st".

Finished my mail after tiffin??? and then had a sleep until Tea Time.

Guest Night to-night. The "guests" consisted of the Staff, the S.S.O and Pearce. We dragged through Dunne rather and it was 10/30 before we arose. Then we started on Music and kept at it till about 1.0. Headlam left about 12/30. Castle Smith and Berrington departed at 1/30 and then I cleared and so did most of the Men. It was one of the quietest Guest
