Range at a little after 6.0 this morning. We did not start firing until about 7.0 as the Punjabis wanted to finish.

The C.O. surprised me by turning up to look at us about 9.30. Fortunately we were behaving ourselves at the time.

We finished of??? the table "C" this morning. I am quite pleased with the results. We have 7 firsts, 7 seconds & one wo??? I put on second best score with 120 against 125. As I have only been a month on the job at all I feel rather bucked.

Did not get back from the Range till 10.0 & "I didn't 'af??? want my Breakfast, neither!

Naturally on a morning when one arrives at the S.S. Office late there is a lot to do. It so happened this morning – it always does. However, I got lunch about 1.45.

Played tennis in eve with Beach Jackson and Rudolf. Had rather slack sets. It was abominably sweaty

Tuesday Oct 12, 1915

Started my new scheme of M.G. parades to day. Stables at 6.0. Gun 6.45.

Not much in S.S.O. today.

The weather today is the absolute limit. I shall in future refuse to believe anything that "Old Stafess"??? tell us. They all prophesied cold weather in Oct. & it did look as if they were going to be right, about 3 days ago, but to day __ __ __! * !

Had a short ride in eve: Did not go far, just along the race course. The pony??? was feeling the heat like the rest of us.
