Range at 6.0. Police out in full force to prevent us slaying anybody. The guns are alright but the Inpods? give me the pip even to look at them.
Got back to Breakfast at 10/15. So not unnaturally S.S. work took me till lunch time.
No tennis in eve owing to rain.
Thur Oct 7th
Range again today at 6.0. Some quite good work done. Back earlier today -- about 9.0 to be exact.
Quite a fair amount in S.S. office.
More rain in eve.

Had a few officers on the 30 yds Range with the M.G. today.
Did quite a good piece of work this morning. There was the usual A.I.F. trot round (quarterly) at 9.0. I fortunately forgot it & so escaped the boring process. The Major saw the humour of the situation in my forgetting it because I had so carefully reminded everyone else. So all ended happily.
Touch of Punkah? Chill today so slacked in aft & wrote mail after tea.
