station & back. I tried to get them put on to the mail but couldn't manage it.
More rain to-day again making tennis etc impossible.

O.R. 8.30 - 12.30. At 9.15 we had a big inspection of the lines by the D.A.D.M.S. (sanitary). He seemed quite pleased with everything & said our lines were excellent. It was 10/30 before he moved on to the Battery & consequently our work in the Orderly Room was somewhat delayed.
Tennis in aft with Jackson against Beach & the Major: we managed to win two sets.

Rode at 5.45. M.G. 6.15. Spent this morning stripping & reassembling the guns. Find No 10015? is the best one to strip.
O.R. 8.30. Absolutely kochch? nay? doing until the English Mail came in & brought me two (personal) letters & the Registered Post brought a "Secret." One which needed rather a lot of attention.
Toovey handed over the machine guns to me to-day; I take over S.S. tomorrow.
Severwell wired for an extension of leave for 4 days which the Major granted. (The C.O. went up
to Jalapahar last night. So I shall have quite enough to do until Thursday week.
