Played no. 6 tonight. It was a good game. We were fast asleep for the first 10 mins & they were all over us. Then we woke up though they still pressed. When we crossed over the score was 1-0 agst us. They ought not to have scored as the ref missed a very bad "Strike"? just before.
In the second half we pressed hard but only got through once. Result 1-1.

M.G. from 6.30-7.45 to-day. Am getting the hang of it now.
Hickling created a sensation when he came into Mess fro breakfast. "He's come -- Scales isn't in it!!" "He" being the Padre. Sounds interesting.
Parade 9.0 - 10.0 C.O.'s inspection at 10.45. I gave my N.C.O.'s a chat on "Advanced Guards" in General. In time I want to get down to Patrols etc.
Had a game of billiards with Hickling from 11.30 to 1.0. He gave me 30 & lost by 13 in 100.
The Padre rolled into Lunch (he is staying at Edminition? by the way). He is certainly a weird spec. The absolute local vicar.
As the rain came down just at the critical moment when Hickling & I were setting out to play Racquet we were unable to play so I wandered off & watched the Battn trial for the match agst us on Monday. The play was not exciting. The team were A v. B & the result a draw 1 all.
