Brown. we were in very aged 4 ?? 1sts in which a door could be opened between 2 adjacent compartments so we 3 were together. We talked for a bit but turned in quite early.

At about 2.45 I awoke with a vision of a lamp with the sign "Daskeda." Knowing that to be the station before Bhusawai? I kept awake. We came to anchor at 3.15 & I had to wake Needham & give him a telegram. After that I dressed & raided the Refreshment room. Arranged for our chaps Breakfast to be at 4.0. Got that over about 4.30 & then took nearly half an hour more sending a wire and getting my ticket back. After that I had to kick my heels till 6.30. About 6 in came a train from Calcutta with the 5th Buffs?? & the 10th in. Sturge was 1/C there?? 10th party. First time I've seen him since last Oct. They were shunted on to our train and at 6.30 the whole kaboosh left headed by two fat 4.6.0s to give them a chance of making up time. I said good bye to our chaps as they went out & got 3 cheers + 1 from them. Cheering on one side or other seems essential to all military partings. I wonder when we shall meet again.
