Thur 22. Jul. 15.

However we hadn't got more than about 1 1/2 miles when down came more Pani??? and we decided to turn back. Fortunately we had our brohemies??? so we didn't get very wet.

I had a new horse this morning. A quiet black. It was an agreeable change after Tuesday's Chestnut. Pulling??? is living??? !!

When we got back we settled down to read. After??? I went over to see if the mail was in. No luck. though Lamont was more successful at 1/0. Result???. Read Mail till Lunch.

Went for a ride round the Camels Hump in Eve & had another glimpse of the Snow.

Fri. 23. Jul.

I see Dixon's name in the Casualty list to-day - wounded. Hope not seriously.

Hawley??? is very pleased with life to-day, as he has had a wire ordering him to leave for the front by the "Saleute"??? on Aug 14.

Walked into the town & back this morning. Lamont met a man called Healey who is in the E. Surreys??? & whom he met at Hythe??? last year. He has been out to the Gulf & invalided home - Dysentery. He says Fisher??? is Deciphering Officer at Busna??? !

Did another short walk in the Eve. Saw several monkeys, (wild), jumping about the trees at one spot. They are grey with white braids???. I didn't know they jumped from branch to branch as they do. We saw one chap do quite 12 ft - without exaggeration.
