I kept on goodness knows how - & pulled & pulled with my hand almost up against his neck. But I couldn't stop him on rounding the corner by the Metropole after a foot mule??? git??? behold a Rickshaw. The corties??? tried to dodge - so did I. But we met. Precicely??? how we picked ourselves out of the mix I don't know, but no one was hurt fortunately. When we departed on our several ways after our brief undesired proximity, I took jolly good care he never got beyond a walk - though it was a job. However all's well that ends well & I finally [Tue 20. Jul. 15. dismounted at the Charleville very stiff & rather sore as to my 5th rib (left)!
Wed 21. Jul. 15. More Rain & Cloud. However about 10/0??? it had cleared so we walked to the Town & back. We could see the snows directly opposite us, through a break in the clouds, after Lunch. Rinked in the eve. Very much "off my feet" So much so that I collided with the floor once. However I improved.
Thur 22. Jul. 15. had breakfast an hour early & started out to ride to the Vempti??? Salls??? after being held up till 10/0 by a shower.
