Went to the S.S. office afterBrekker, nothing much doing.
Went out with Beach for a ride in the evening on Trovey's pony. We went about 5 miles. The pony has a horribly uncomfortable trot. Consequently when Maisies ??? trotted I cantered. Result when I got back I had rubbed a certain sq. in. rather badly and felt stiff as blazes. However the stiffness passed away though the square inch of skin hasn't arrived yet.

Couldn't ride in the even. So I went up to help Hickling mark out the trenches we drew last week and which the C.O wants dug.

Beach started putting N.C.Os through Standard Tests at 6.0 this morning. It ws quite interesting. None of them get through 1st 5 hrs.??? (we were doing Lining??? Positions)
I spent quite a time getting the S.S. Office ready for to-morrow's D.C.M. Jordon and Morrison are getting it at last.
Had an exciting storm tonight. It started with a dust storm at about 8.30 which nearly blew us out of the Mess.
