206. Wed. May 5. S.S. Office 7.0 left at 8.15. Up to the Company at 9.0. Had an Orderly room. The back to office. Stuck there till 12.30. But I think i really have got things straight now.
Had to go back at 2.30 to correct the proof of Station Orders which finally "came out" about 5.0.
Riding School 5.30. Pay yesterday plus "change horses one up!" We only do this at the halt though. I want to do these things on the move. Thur May 6. A ??? off alone today. Slacked after I had been to the office at 7.30 & then the C.O. at 9.0.
Wrote in aft. Club in eve Fri. May. 7 S.S. Office. P.O. Company 9.0 Paid them at 10.0. Slacked most of the day. Riding School 5.30. Then Club. Sat. May 8 S.S. Office 8.0 Standing Barrack Committee Meeting at Our Orderly Room at 9.0. I had to scorch back to the S.S. office to get a paper for it & I haven't been in such a sweat in my life before. I just sat & dripped.
Sgt Bourne? who is 1/c S.T.C. here says last Monday is as bad a day as we get which is chumming?? though several of them on end would be distinctly unpleasant.
C.O.'s inspection took place at about 9.30. Not a grouse. No Riding School in eve so I played tennis with Cotton & Sauerwall??
