192 Mon Apr 19 it was a hopeless case. And we could only decide that it was "not due to fraud, negligence or theft by any person in or native employed by the Battery." Lionel? Hewlett & Marwood? were the other two members. I was fortunately not the junior member so poor Marwood had to do the scribing.

Played Hockey in the evening at 5.0. It was only a Scratch "A" Corp game. The CO played -- on the opposite side. I played Inside Right. C. O. RIght back - -but all the same we managed to come into contact more than once. Result was a draw 1-1. No score in second half. Tue Apr 20 Parade as usual. Night parade as well which nicely upset a C.E.M.S. Meeting for us. Paraded at 6.30. Marched aboaut 1 1/2 along the Munier?? Road. Halted for 10 minutes & then came back again. I quite enjoyed it. It was quite pleasant marching. Wed Apr 21 Had quite a busy day to-day. 8.0 Sgt. Maj. Parade. I was the only offcr there so I let some of the Sgts. take the Corp. 9.0 Company orderly room 9.30 Court Martial. Cpl. Hoback?? of "G". The charges were (i) Failing to attend Defaulters Parade when Company orderly cpl (ii) Breaking arrest (iii) Breaking out of hospital (ii & iii) were the same offence really.
