166. pp Fri.Mar 19. pp We started the morning with an attack on a village about 2 1/2 miles away. the whole battn. was engaged & "A" was directing company. We stopped operations about 1000 yds this side of the place & then turned & came back. On our way back to camp we attacked & captured a ridge & then reformed & attacked our old friend the canal bank. The C.O. was humbly ???? with the morning operations. This the first time the Bri. has worked as a Bn. since last July & the work to.day pleased him immensly.pp Paid the com in 10 1/2 ?????? this aft.. pp At 5.30 Spail took an officer's bayonet. Fighting class which kept me busy will 6.15. when he invited??????into some ??? mysteries of hockey. pp Sat. Mar. 20. pp Reurned to Dinapore to retrieve Hickling. I rode in with Trovey, who had to come in about the minature range which they are altering. We left camp at 7.15 & got in here about 8.30. I waited for Hickling at the Orderly Room for some time & then went to look for him- & of course missed him. However I found him again at the Orderly Room about 9.20. went back to the Punjabs' Mess and had Hazin then went back to the bungalow & enlarged some photos for him. After that we all slept until ?.0 when Hickley and Trovey drove us in state to camp. & I was left alone. So I went down to the club & amused myself on the piano till 6.30 when I started "Churiers" pp only Howley & Raitt at Mess tonight:
