Wed. Mar. 17]

have mail this after as in addition to O.O. duties we had an officers TN.CO's affair - nomerally??? fire direction practice. Actually there were 12 groups of chartis filled with water. Each Coy was given a frontage. We got one group of chartis in ours! We knocked out the 12 with 83 rounds I got one definately & I dispute a second with Sgt. Moore. Altogether there were 18 claimants for the 12! The water spurts up when they are hit so they are easily registerd.

Thur. Mar. 18

No work to-day. Lamart & I went up to Muner??? tank in the morning. The Ruins there are very interesting & date??? from about 1500

[Thur. Mar. 18

Apparently it was originally thinder??? but was captured by Mohammedians??? who built the tank there.

After lunch sleep.

About 4.0 Major & Mrs. Mackenzie, Mrs. & Mr. Wolfestein, Mr. & Mrs. Johnstone & Mrs. Hewlett came out & we had quite a jolly tea party. Kennie Mackenzie came as well.

The band was playing outside the office. Mess & some of the scouts were "gymening???" outside the Q. M. stores. I took Kennie over to see the Guard mount & then back past the band to see Frankau's tame gymnastic. As I passed the band there was a General chorus from the men round "Now we have to call him Father!"

NO rugger tonight as Mackenzie kicked the pill into some cacti & punctured it
