Then Roe started his Lecture - the last on The War. (We had Lady Bangley??? & several of the "igh-brow???" ladies of Banki then.) He talked on the Economic Position. He doesn't think Germany will run short of Coal, Iron, Guns, Cotton, Copper, ammunition, money. Food depends on Russia. If she gets over the Hungarian plains before the Harvest it will upset things for Germany a bit. Otherwise he thinks she can last economically.

More Field Firing. Today "A" got in first thank goodness. We went a bit beyond yesterdays position & found 4 targets all roughly 800 yds away. Part of the scheme was to get going quickly. We came out top with 126 pts against the next cay's??? 68.
Abdul amuid??? last night instead of Nana??? Khan rather to my surprise. N.K. went in to Dinapore??? on Sun. morning & was due out Mon. night. Apparently he came off the bike & knocked himself about a bit & conseq. Abdul has come in his okad??? leaving N.K to look after Hickling. I got into white last night for the first time. Tonight I was O.O. so I borrowed Sword Ship??? & knol??? from Lamont. Nickel Scabbord I had. I cut some figure!
