116 Fri. Feb 19 in the Scouts Bungalow which the nagged Scout wanted to report. I went along to the Bungalow & found Scowen's bed with all its stuffing out, two sheets & the mattress cover among the rafters. As he was sleeping comfortably in a vacant bed I didn't see that he had much grouse & ordered that it should stop there. Of course I reported it to the Capt of the week -- Hewlett.

Fisher refused to take any steps & to-day a short chit arrived from him: "Please note that Pte Scowen has no right to be in the Scouts Bungalow & have him removed at once."

I knew Fisher was returning Scowen to A but I also knew that he hadn't sent us any chit to that effect. So I answered "Kindly state why Pte Scowen has no right to bein the Scouts Bungalow." This returned with a chit from the Adjutant:- "I understand that the Pte Scowen has been returned to company duty & that he removed his bed from the Scouts Quarters in Arrah Bcks.

I therefore fail to understand Lt. Findlay's reply.

Kindly detail another Scout."

To which Beach replied "1. Pte Scowen had not been returned to company duty prior to the arrival of your chit opposite." 2. He did not move into "A" Corp's Qrs at Arrah. 3. Please request Lt. Fisher to correspond with me & not with my Cr. Sgt. 4. Another Scout will be detailed to report to Mr. Fisher tomorrow morning."

The joke of this thing is that there
