82 Mon Jan 25 After tea I had a busy time working up Minutes for the C.E.M.S. meeting tomorrow. Finished it though. Tues Jan 26 Raye??? at 8.30. Off at about 1.45! Consequently I did not finish lunch till about 2.30. Had an attempt at a sleep but Beach woke me at 3.30 with rumours of a Company Lecture by a Pachmani?? expert. This was due at 3.45 but when we arrived we found it necessary to postpone it & made a dive back for tea instead.

Held the 2nd General Meeting of the C.E.M.S. at 6.30. We followed up with a committee meeting. We are arranging to find an organist & a chair for the Sundays when the Battery are away & probably thereafter as well conjointly with them. We have got a couple of lectures coming off -- one Sat week on India, one next Tue on the War both by I.C.S. men. We want a little advertisement first. Wed Jan 27 Range early. Fired till about 9.15. I left at about 9.45 after getting the Registers straight. About 10.30 it began to rain & continued to rain on & off all day.

Consequently I settled down to write letters & diary.

At 2.30 Jackson gave the Corp a lecture on "Care of Arms" & we followed up with a Rifle Inspeckker. That was at about 3.45 -- then tea.

After Tea more writing.
