192 Fri. Dec. 25] thoug I favey??? I must have ??? one or two. I shot a couple of coots for the boatman & they took two cartridges each, so it is no wonder that nothing happened to any duck. About 3.30 we turned homeward for tea. We found that Mr Wilson had got 7 more but had lost 3 others. Lovely got a couple more but Beach had no luck, Frankan??? aimed at a duck and got a coot! By the time tea was over it was dark so we jig sawed till it was time to dress for Dinner! played between whiles. They have a ripping Piano: It is a Broadwood and a lovely tone though a little on the soft side. (wonder how my 193 [Fri. Dec. 25 old Piano is at Oxford? Dinner was a genuine Christmas affair with Turkey and a burning Plum Pudding and afterwards Crackers to pull. We drank to "Absent Friends" then "The Imperial Forces" & last but not last "H.M. The King Emperor." After Dinenr we had a game of Blow Football. We were playing with blown eggs & of course when they dropped they smashed wo we played till we had no balls left. We followed up with twos & threes till all the older stages??? were blown & then jigsawed till we were too tired to do any more. I struck at 11.30.
