to be about 1' 3" square - an awkward size. However all went well till about 3/4 mile from home, when I felt the saddle going backwards. Having the parcel in one hand I could not save myself & had to go over backwards too. The result was that - as I was moving at a fair rate I grazed my left knee (af arm)??? rather badly. As I packed??? in to dust I let it bleed all the way back where I gave it a through clean & filed??? on Binacic??? Ointment.
The revolver is a Browning automatic .320. It has a very neat double safety catch & is quite a friendly??? little weapon. I hope it fires well.
Till mess I slacked - as usual. Band night tonight: Thank Heaven! it is pretty dull otherwise. Spent most of the morning that remained after a late breakfast (9:30) in writing home. I finished about 2:30 & went down to the club to play Tennis. I had a couple of singles with Hickling??? & then we had a double with Laneart??? & Sherwood. Lanerat??? & I won. Fri. Dec. 18

Paid the company in the aft. Our cox.??? has suddenly increased to 120 as all the Specialists who are in Anah??? Bcks. with us are now attached to us. Thus the number.
After pay I went to the Polo Ground & helped Hickling??? & H "A" Cox??? men who were waling out a 440 yds track on the Polo Grounds. We are going to have some Regemental??? Sports on Boxing Day. Is is rather a job whitewashing a
