Tue Dec.15 pp Company Parade at 7.50 today. We sized & inspected carefully & then marched to victoria Bcks to the Battle??? Parade Ground. Soon after 8.30 General Money arrived. He is our Brigadier & one of the tallest Generals I have seen. We recieved him with musical honors (ie General Salute) & then he inspected the B??? very carefully. He asked the C.O. nasty questions about residences & occupations of the men as he went round. our people were beautifully steady. They had to stand at ease for quite a long time, & they did it well. When he had finished his inspection we did a march past in column. This was rendered??? rather difficult by lengths of wire netting which crossed the ground at intervals. Our line was fairly rotten???. D was the absolute limit C was alone. Equal to us D a bit worse & poor old G bucked up for ones it's life

and did it damn well! After that was all over we marched back to our respective baracks & stood by there for a little over an hour waiting for the old buy to come round & inspect. However he contended??? himself with a couple of Victorian Rooms & we dismissed about 11.0. at 12.0 I had a note from the orderly??? Room saying we must be at the mess at 2.45 with swords & bells to receive the old geyser??? who was coming to lunch with us.
At 1.0 he turned up. We were all formerly introduced by the C.O. & did some more saluets & then we took off our belts and swords and adjourned to lunch.
We had our afternoon Parade at 2.30 and spent the afternoon - with Beach??? looking on - trying to get our Slyse??? & general Aman??? Drill??? and??? in the grande??? style. ie in
