H.T. Dilwan??? Sun. Nov. 15 in full swing. That kept on busily all the afternoon till about 5.0.

It is done quicker here tahn at Gib. I don't know exactly how many tons we took on baord. I fancy about 900. Everything of course was in a horrid mess. Coal Dust everywhere except in one's cabins for which we had to thank ourselves for closing our portholes. That is rather necessary at Port Said as some of the Coaling people have a habit of slipping into one's cabins and passing things out - if they get half a chance.

We took a young searchlight on board and fixed it prettily to our bows. At 6.15 we left with a Pilot. As it was dark we could see very little of the canal. It seems to be about 100 yds. broad. It's length is 87 miles.

Suez Mon. Nov. 16.

Woke up at Suez: where we arrived at about 7.0 am. We found the rest of the convoy there and the "Swiftsure". There were several other Transports with Indian Troops waiting to go through to Port Said. I believe we have to wait here for the Minerva, which cannot leave P.S. until relived by the Swiftsure. The ??? left about 12.0 so we may leave with luck to-morrow eve. We get the following signal message from one of the transports lying here this morning.

"SHEIKH SYED Turkish port opposite PERIM captured by 69th and 89th Prenjuli??? and 14th Sikhs on way here.

Our casualties I fficer wounded, 4 native killed 10 wounded.

Enemy's losses 3 Killed, some wounded, 200 prisoners.

We destroyed 3 six inch and 6 three inch guns 1,000,000 rounds and port". (from Transport ELLENGA.)
