102. Sat Nov. 14 S.S. "Delware?" Port Said Remorselessly awakened by Little about 11.45 pm. (13/11/14) On deck by midnight. It is blowing & she is rolling a bit. Occasionally a sea comes aboard & twice I got a wetting. Did my hourly visits very conscientiously. The N.C.O's are going round twice an hour as per K.R.?? At 3.45 woke Higgins who came up exactly at 4.0. In bed again by 4.10. Usual parade at 10.0. Boat Crew dismissed to sections at 10.30 so returned to "A" Corp. 11.30 - 1.0 busy printing photos chiefly for Beech Potts & Co. Parade again 2.15. Gave a Lecture on Chapter iii of Our Indian Empire. Then Semaphore 2.45 - 3.30. Switched my group on to reading??. They did it quite well. 3.30 - 6.0 writing home a diary. The Archdeacon is going ashore at Port Said to post them for us. Sun. Nov. 15 Steamed into Port Said this morning and anchored at 7.30 a.m. Went up on deck in Pyjamas, a Greater & Wellingtons at about 7.15. Went back to bed again at 7.45. Port Said looks quite attractive from the Harbour & the entrance to the Canal looks very inviting. There was a French Cruiser there when we arrived which greeted us with loud Heep Heep Hurrai's & Vive L'Angleterre. There were also a couple of British TBD's & the Minerva. After Breakfast Officers were allowed to go ashore in two shifts. I got into the second batch & left at 11.30.
