I trusted to keep it there to pay the man out for his reflections on his cooking. Just as ??? left the men from the man's mess came up or wanted to know where the meat was. What their ??? when it was finally issued ??? - somewhat burnt away ???
Sun Nov. 8
My last night's sore throat had not vanished this morning so I did not arise at 8.45. Found them just ??? cooking when we went on deck after breakfast.
Fall in blew at 10.0. Paraded with "A" Coy. Suddenly along came the C.O I excitedly asked why I was not with my ??? crew. It had ??? him that for at least the last 3 parades Boat's Crews had fallen in with their school. He was in no mood to listed to ??? so I saluted & vanished. Got ??? ragging from Cortow when I reported to him.
Just about 12.30 we cast off. Two ??? got us off. One ??? at on stem when we were more or less out the other ??? & so turned us. Then we went under our own stream. The Port Commander cam & bade us farewell. By 1.15 we were out of the Bay & in the open. It was rather choppy. My throat was still a bit sore so I kept in my bunk most of the ??? Got up for dinner in the eve, then went straight to bed after it.
