About 9.50 we moved off. We were the first coy on. 13, ??? followed in that order ??? At 10.15 we marched to the stations. There was some mix up as to the time of the train. It was originally to leave at 12.5 & then it was altered to 11.15 when we reached the station we found it had been altered back to 12.5 again so I spend the hour taking photos of various people. At 11.45 we moved on to the platform & very soon had the ½ hr. ent ??? At 12.5 exactly we moved. We went via Chatham, ??? the Bellingham loop, through Bellingham Carford & ??? through Chapham (S. E. C.) then down on to the LSW & into ??? June where we stopped to change engines. This operation took half an hour then we continued on via Richmond ??? & ??? loop, on to the SWP main line again. ??? a ??? & so on to South Hampton. We went straight throught to ??? - 43. The ship was alongside. She turned out to be the "Dilwana" a B. I. Ship & about 5,800 tons rather aged – built in fact about 1892. The embarkation proceeded very smoothly in charnge of a naval embarkation officer. We drew into S' Hampton at 5.0 & all the men or most of the luggage were aboard by 6.0. A. Coy was on fatigue for helping to put in the baggage. So I looked after my own or got it taken straight to my cabing which ??? had bagged.
