62. Tues. Sept 8. My ?half? corps? (left) vaccinated today. As Holt was on leave & Stratton (who is P.M.C.) was busy on Mess Bills I had one out with the Batt. again. Did the same work as yesterday with them. Wed. Sep 9 was vaccinated today with the ????. Nothing much else doing. Sat. Sep. 12. The place around here is all mapped out for Trenches & some of them are dug. This is in case the Germans land. We completed & improved some out at Long ??? to-day. They will be the ones we occupy in case of any actual alarm. I feel sorry for the Germans if they do attack this part of the world -- unless they land a lot of guns as well -- because the trenches are jolly well sited. Sun. Sep. 13. Church Parade at usual time. Wandered round to hear the Band in the aft. They played in the Recreation Ground. Went to tea with Jesian? He is at the City & Guilds & knows Pat quite well.
