Letters arrived from OVOTC??? & James this morning. James thinks Col.??? will have no objections to my taking a commission. OTC people enclose a form of application. Part of it was a medical certificate. So I rushed off to Peinefather??? & got him to examine me & sign it. Then the next step was to take the form up to Oxford + a birth certificate to do this! Caught (just) the 10.20 Express. Got there about 12.0 with a crowd of others. They just looked at the forms to see that they were in order & told us to come again at 2.15. I & Balliot man I met in the train (called Thomson) went to the Cadena??? & lunched. Next we visited a barber for a haircut & shave. Then back to the place (OTCHQ) at about 2. Found Capes, Ellen & Clarke on the job like us. We had to go before a committee composed of Sterning the Vice Chancellor ??? & the Hertford OTC Capt. They had

us in one by one & asked sundry questions. Do you want to go in??? for your dyver?? after? Have you ans??? A or B? If so when did you get them? - In School Corps - On what school? What rank were you? Have you any preference for a commission? I said Midax??? Grh??? if poss, but so long as I got a commission I didn't care & when I went! Met Capes. Wandered into Cod??? had a look round & a strum on my piano then tea'd at the George with Clarke. Capes & I caught the 4.26??? home. It was very late leaving Oxford, so I did not catch a train from B. S??? til 6.30. In eve went to a War Help Movement meeting in the Spush??? House. The place was packed & there was an overflow meeting to follow. They have a scheme by which a committee is set up which via a scheme of subdivision
