Tue. July 28.
Went up to the office with the Pater to day. Spent the day Filing letters & indexing the invoice book. Not a very Exciting occupation.
Had a short walk in eve.
Wed July 29 Durward??? came around in the a.m. for our usual tennis but I did not feel quite up to it so scratched.
Stephens came over??? in the paternal car with his Mater & Sister about 11.15. He left them at the School talking to some friends they met & came on himself to see me.
After a chat I had a drive round in the car (via Pimier???). It is quite a ripper. (BSA-Daimler)
In aft I took the Mater by bus to Walford. Had tea at Bucks (+ Raspberries & Cream!!!!!) for which I paid. We had a little Excitement there. A tar boiler (used in road spraying) caught fire somehow. Result Dense clouds of black Smoke. However they soon got it out.
Have just finished packing (11.30) for our departure tomorrow. We leave by the 9.00 from Kings + for Newcastle then on to "Bonnie??? Scotland"!!
