Pater brought home his Bank a/c books on Sat. Had another go at them to-day at home. Got within 2/5.
went up to the office in aft & got hold of the old passbook where I discovered that the 2/5 was made up of +10/= -8/= and sundry other small items. Result exact balance.
Met Mrs. Newton & Pat at Holborn Circus at 6.50 & went on to St. Alban's together (Mater arrived at the office about 6.30) Church crammed again.
Cacey as usual good.
Seely (War Minister) Sir John French & Sir Ewart have resigned. Asquith has taken on the war office himself (in addition to Prime Minister &c) & has to seek re-election!!!!
