(iv) the peace and love of the true Xtian life follows. This was not really his sermon but he took so long over it that he had to reduce his sermon proper to about 10 mins. He talked of Faith. He made two chief points. (i)One must have noble ideas about God. One must think nothing about God that one would not think about a good man. (ii)One must _really_ trust God.

We left after the hymn following the sermon and caught the 9.25 home. That runs Harrow fist stop now. That's a result of the opening of the relief line from Wembley to Willesden.

Turned out at 5.30 as I had to go to Oxford for a Viva. Caught the 6.20 to Quainton Rd. Changed there & got on to Verney. Changed again. The LNW train was 10 min late! so had a cab to Coll???. jumped into a gown & a white tie and then sprinted for the schools. Arrived there exactly at 10.0. About 10.5 the examiners condescended to receive us. After the roll-call affair they announced "Mr Edwards of Queens will come at 10.35 the rest will remain!" "Oh" I thought "I'm safe!" After a short pause however they called four people one after another to do unseens, & various written papers again. Another
