Thurs. Feb 19

1st Day of Joggers. Dicky & I ran with the boats. Both our first & second got bumped at Long Bridges ! - ! - * - ! &c Univ. bumped the second & the House bumped the first. I think the House will bump Magdalen to-morrow with a little luck, but I don't think we shall go lower than we are now 3rd. As to the second I know not. I do not think Worcester are great.

Joyce came in to tea. He is rowing in Keble 1st. They were just about to bump Oriel when bow caught a crab! Rotten Luck! Result, they were bumped by Exeter.

He brought round the music of the Acharnians. It is rather fine. Parry works in Hitchy Koo & Everybody's Doing it seriously and well.

Debate at Ugger in even. "This House would welcome the passage into law of the Welsh Church Bill" Moved by Mr WH. Macmillan Balliol [Sec] Opposed by Mr AHM Wedderburn Balliol [Junior Lib.] Rev W. B. Selbie DD Principal of Mansfield Coll. will speak third. The Right Rev. The Lord Bishop of St David's will speak fourth.

Macmillan made an excellent speech. Wedderburn
