Had lunch with Herb. to-day. Rob was there also. After lunch we wandered down to Rob's digs waited while he changed and then rode to Cowley with him where he was playing hockey. Herb & I had intended to go for a decent ride but surface was so foul that we only just went round Headington and home. Rob, Herb came in to tea. After tea Rob tried to sing. He succeeded in making the night horribly hideous. So much so that there were impertinent questions going round the ??? table as to the identity of the inhabitant of the rooms "opp Hirst's" on Stair 17.
Went into Hall. Capes came in after. Piano till 9.0.
Actually worked this afternoon. After tea Piano as usual. Then Cadena, Ugger more Piano and finally in bed before 10. !

Cut a lekker of Jups at 12.0 this a.m. went for a walk in afternoon and then played tea-Hall.
When I asked for a sweet in Hall Gus came back and remarked "I sorry to tell you sir that you're crossed both in kitchen and buttery. You cut a lecture of Mr. Powell's or something this morning."
"Yes I did but what does this exciting cross business mean?"
"It means you can't have any food sir!"
