Friday Jan 23.
Had a letter from the Mater on Wed eve which I do not seem to have mentioned saying that Pater has arranged for Whiteleys to call for the Piano send it and deliver it to my rooms, unpack it and take the case back. A ripping idea giving me no trouble at all. I have been wondering all day whether it might have come to-day though the possibility was certainly remote. It has not come.
Mater remarks in her letter that Whiteley's sent in an estimate for "Packing & Delivering same to St Johns College Cambridge"! Pater hastily corrected the error.
Went for a bike ride in aft. Woodstock back via Banbury Road.
Worked in evening.
Sat. Jan. 24
Had a paper on Meno (1st half) this a.m. got it finished fairly soon. "Pass-ably" I think.
Went on the upper River this aft with Dicky in a Rob Roy. Got right up to the top. It was pretty chilly. In places we had to charge through ice. If the frost holds there should be some skating to-morrow.
Spent rest of the evening after Hall in the J.C.R reading.

Went to Barnie's with Harris at 11.0. Liked it almost better than Cowley. The only thing at all un-Anglican that I could discover was the Birretas. The church itself
