Tue Dec. 30

to Oxford in her life which was something to be thankful for as it gave us a topic for conversation.

After supper we had a smoke and then some music before resuming play.

My final score was 199 and rather to my surprise I got the second prize. The Balls were awfully pleased that I got it - and so of course was I. It was a nice purse - a thing I needed badly. After the prize distribution more music. We finally broke up about 1.15 but the household (in which I include myself) did not get to bed till about 2.30 am.

Wed Dec 31

The last day of 1913. Harvey Pinck (who was sharing my bed) signallised it but turning out at 6.15 after 4 hours sleep. He had to get back to Rochdale by the 7.35 from Victoria and left by taxi about 6.54.

I was not so energetic and did not breakfast till about 10.30.

Mary and I went out for a walk in the aft and in the evening we played cards (solo)

We stopped up till 12.30. I - being dark - let the New Year in at 12.0 midnight precisely. We did not wait up for visitors.

Some I believe did actually turn up about 1.0 but finding lights out shoved off again.

mittensgirl at gmail.com I found this hit so fascinating! Thanks for the opportunity to work on it and good luck!
