Went up to town to day. Bought a few things in the photographic line and also a Bag from Garstin's This latter is my Xmas present from the Mater. I have got a Beauty. Shall take it with me to Manchester to morrow.
Dec. 30. Tue.
Left Harrow in company with the Mater at 11.30. for Euston. Fortunately I had allowed some time for booking, fortunately because I had some difficulty in persuading the Booking Clerk to give me a Euston Voucher for my ticket. He kicked up a dust because I had taken the ticket at a Town office. Finally after phoning somewhere & taking about 20 mins over the job, he found that I was right & had to give it to me.
However we landed safely at Euston about 11.53 and after the usual 1/2 mile walk from platform 5 to 15 got a corner seat in the 12.10 for Manchester.
The train was very full and I owed that comes to other people's idiocy. There was a label in the window for reserved seats. People saw this but failed to notice that only 3 seats were reserved. I therefore bagged the fourth but as a matter of fact
