poor Dickys way when he goes over there. However, he returns to business on the 1st of Jan.

We all went back to Dickys to tea and then went off to Leytonstone to spend the evening. When Mr Young came home we had Bagatelle Mr Y + myself v Dicky & James. We played till 10.15 when we migrated en masse (to Dickys annoyance) to Doris' School where she was Dancing at a Breaking-up Dance. They had not finished when we arrived so we had to wait for a half an hr. We escorted her home safely. At about 11.30 I managed to drag Dicky away & so back to S Woodford.

Thur. Dec. 18.

James came over in the a.m & we all walked to Highham's Pk which is rather a pretty spot about 2 miles away from S.Woodford. We walked back to Leytonstone but Dicky only saw Doris for 5 min & that had to last him for the whole day. The poor chap was most disconsolate over it all.

In the aft. J.D. & I all went to the Cinema again.

As Dicky got thro' Law Prelim he had to fulfill his promise, contingent on that event, to take me to the theatre. Accordingly we caught a train about 6.50 for Liverpool St. + went on from there by bus to the Haymarket. Our seats were in the 2nd row of the
